Give Love A Try//Chapter 10
At the Party
Miley’s POV
I walk into the party with my hand intertwined with Nick as he whispers in my ear. “You’re the most beautiful girl here.” I giggle as I respond. “I was hoping you would say that.” I squeeze his hand tighter as he gives me a comforting smile, knowing I’d be nervous about tonight.
As Nick and I are talking I see an older couple come to us. Nick’s parents. I feel my knees go weak and feel nausea as well. His mother gives him a hug as his father shakes his hand. Nick puts his arm around me as he smiles at his parents. “This my girlfriend Miley.” He says with big grin on his face.
His mom shakes my hand and so does his dad. “Nice to meet you both.” I answer back with a shy smile.
“So, Miley is where your family?” Nick’s mother asks. I hold my tears back as I speak. “My parents died when I was young, so I live by myself.” His parents stay silent as they whisper back and forth. “Well that’s sad to hear.” His dad replies. I give them a sad smile. “Thank you.” I say. “So if you live alone, you must have a well-paid job so you support yourself.” His mother says. “I do I work as a waitress.” I answer back feeling so nervous after saying that. His parents look surprised as they eye me up and down. They weren’t expecting me to be some poor girl with the dress I was wearing. “Well we need to talk with some more people. “His mother replies as they fake smile before they walk away. Great they hate me.
Nick looks at me feeling worried. “Are you okay babe? Do you want something to drink?” He asks acting as a protective boyfriend that he is. “Yeah that would be nice.” I say while kissing his cheek.
After Nick leaves I see a group of girls giving me dirty looks. One of them I heard said that how could I afford a dress like that and how did I get invited to this party. I just stand there trying to see where Demi is, but I can’t see her in this crowd. Two girls walk by whispering, but I can hear them. “That’s Nick’s girlfriend, diner girl.” One of them says. “Seriously wow she’s not even that pretty” Another says back. I quickly feel tears build up in my eyes as I run outside in the cool air.
With Selena
Selena’s POV
When I saw Tiffany trying to put moves on Taylor, I feel like clawing her eyes out. She knows I like him and she decides to go after him. In the end, I will end up with Taylor not her. I walk over to the direction where they are at, but I end up bumping into table where a bunch of punch spills over my dress. Great now I wrecked my dress and it will probably be embarrassing to walk up to him. I decided to forget about my dress and walk over as I hear my name in their conversation.
“I’m surprised you’re not with Selena tonight.” Tiffany says. “Why do you say that?” Taylor replies back. I really wanted to know what Taylor will say. “Well she likes you, so I was expecting she would be your date.” She answers back. “Well to be honest I do like her, but she acts so bitchy sometimes and if we dated, she would just care about herself and not me.” He says as I feel some water go down my face. Tears? I never cry until now. I can’t listen it anymore, so I run off outside. I never knew that being mean was a turn off for guys. As I end up outside, I spot Miley crying on the steps. She looks really upset and well maybe I should talk to her, so I walk up to her.
Meanwhile with Nick
Nick’s POV
When I get back with Miley’s water I don’t see her. I see Demi walk up to me smiling. “Hey bro. Having fun?” She asks. “I guess, but I don’t know where Miley is” I reply feeling worried where she is. “Oh, well I’ll help you look for her.” She says giving me sympathetic smile. This why I’m glad Demi is my sister, she always there to help me.
Back With Selena
Selena’s POV
“Hey Miley” I say feeling awkward about talking to her. “She looks up with tears in her eyes feeling surprised. “What do you want? To insult me? I got enough of it tonight.” Miley answers back. “Wait, did you meet Nick’s parents?” I ask.
“Yeah why do you care?” She asks feeling shocked were talking. “I don’t but I know how you are feeling now.” I say as she wonders why I am being so nice to her. “And how do you know I feel?” Miley asks.
I sit next to her. “Because 2 years ago I was in your place, where I was just like you. My parents weren’t rich, but Nick still wanted to be my friend. When I met his parents they didn’t like me at all, so they ignored me at all the parties and never talked to me when I went to his house. “I say back while looking down. “Oh I never knew, but how come they talk to you now?” Miley asks feeling curious. “Because my dad got a promotion a couple months later and all of sudden is parents noticed I was alive. So don’t take it personal like I did before, just ignore how they treat you." I answer back looking up at Miley.
“Thanks I never had something like this happen to me before, so I didn’t know how to handle it.” Miley responds feeling nervous talking to me. Maybe Selena is just using to me to get information of me. “Don’t waste your tears on them.” I say as I stand up. “Well thanks for talking to me.” Miley says feeling slightly confused that we are having a conversation. “Just because I was nice to you right now doesn’t mean me were friends you know?” I say back.
“I know, but I’m glad someone else went through this not just me” Miley replies feeling happy that it wasn’t just her. “Yeah well im going to inside, you coming?” I ask. “Yeah I’ll be there in a minute.” Miley answers trying to fix her makeup.
As I am walking back in party, I hardily believe I was acting all nice to Miley. But for some reason, it felt good. Maybe Taylor is right, I shouldn’t act like a bitch all the time.
After the Party
Nick’s POV
“So how did you like the party?” I ask feeling nervous she didn’t have good time.
“It was cool, but not something I’m used to.” Miley answers back. “Oh, well now we get to spend some alone time, so maybe now it will be really cool?” I say as I smile sheepishly.
She lays her head on my lap as I stroke her hair. “If you could wish for one thing, what would it be?” she asks as she gazes up at me with her blue orbs which look amazing at night. “I guess having you in my arms forever. “I answer back while leaning down and pecking her lips. I am surprised as she pulls me in for a deeper kiss. I cup her face as the kiss intensifies. She pulls away staring at me with questioning eyes. “Nick, do you think were too different?” she asks while playing with my hair. “I know we have different lives, but it doesn’t matter at all, I would still want to be with you.” I say while wondering why she asked that.
“It’s just scares me that you might find someone who fits your life better than I do.” She replies while feeling stupid for ever asking. “You know I haven’t fallen this hard for someone in a long time, so you’re lucky.” I say as I touch her cheek which are a rosy red now. “I love you so much Nicholas Jerry Jonas.” she says back while pulling me down for another deep and passionate kiss.
