Chapter 6
At the diner: With Taylor
Taylor’s POV
I can’t believe I got stuck here by myself, but it’s better than shopping with Selena and Tiffany. Ha-ha! They made me carry all their bags which is why I hang with guys more than girls. I remembered that at this diner, Miley works here. I wonder if she is working now, but I’m guessing she still hates me for being so mean to her. I lean my head back as I start zoning out.
Miley’s POV
I’m picking my paycheck which had $160.00. Wow this will actually cover rent and help me buy some more food. As I’m walking towards the exit, I spot Taylor and it looked like he was zoned out or sleeping. I am hesitating if I should walk over, but I end up walking over and tapping his shoulder. “Taylor? It’s me Miley.” I say as I shake his arm lightly.
He opens his eyes and looks over at me. At first he looks surprised, but then he smiles. “Hey your Miley right?” He asks and I wonder did he really forget my name?
I flash him a quick smile as I sit down. “Yeah it’s me. What are you doing here by yourself?” I ask him as I wonder where his “crew” is.
He leans a bit as he settles his arms on the table. “Well Sel and Tiff are shopping while Nick is helping paint Demi’s room.”
I nod slightly as I remember Nick texting me that this morning, so he couldn’t hang out today. “Oh cool well I have no other plans today, so do you want to hang out and talk?” I ask nervously because I never really talked to Taylor before, so it felt awkward.
He checks his cell phone before he looks up at me and smiles. “Yeah sure I don’t have to be home for dinner until 4:00.
2 Hours Later
Wow Taylor and I have been talking for 2 hours straight. I didn’t even notice until I looked at the clock, but he is really cool and funny. Even though I do like Nick, Taylor is cute I must say.
“So you’ve never been to New York?” I shake my head feeling quite embarrassed at how boring my life is. “It’s pretty cool there. They have awesome food and they have parties there all the time.” He says while picking up a French fry and popping it in his mouth.
I smile slightly as I think about what it would be like to go to New York. I’ve never left California before, so it would very different. “I’ve never been there, but if I do go you can be my tour guide.” Wow that sounded so dorky and at the same time flirty. What am I doing? I like Nick.
He smirks as I laugh slightly. “Maybe I will because I know some cool places there and I think you would like it there.”He replies back. Wow Taylor is so easy to talk to and I’ve never noticed how built he was. He told me how he works out a lot, so that explains why he is shirtless sometimes. I kept comparing him and Nick in my mind, they both have some similar qualities. When I’m with Nick, I feel like it’s just me, him and nobody else.
Selena’s POV
I walk into the diner expecting to have a little chat with Miley, but then I see her talking with Taylor and she is smiling. I thought she liked Nick and I guess now she is into Taylor. I am feeling for some reason jealous, but I didn’t show it. I can’t believe Miley is dating Taylor, I mean that should be me not her. This makes me hate her even more. I take out my cell phone and text Nick.
Hey Nick..guess who is the hottest couple?
Um idk..who?
Just come by the diner and see for yourself
Few Minutes pass by
I see Nick heading towards the door and I knew once he saw them, he would be pissed. Nick walks over to me and has confused look on his face. “So what did you want me to see?”
I slightly smirk as I turn my gaze at Miley and Taylor. “I think there dating.”
He looks at where I’m looking and his face drops. “What do you mean you think?”
This is where I let the jealousy kick in. “Well when I got here they were laughing and it even looks like there flirting, I mean it’s pretty obvious”. I look at Nick who has no particular emotion on his face.
“Oh”. That is what all he said. Maybe Nick did like Miley, but she sure didn’t like him, so she went after Taylor. What a bitch she is. “Are you okay Nick?” I say feeling actually worried that this might really affect him.
“I’m fine”. He says as he walks off. I can’t believe Miley did that to Nick, he doesn’t deserve someone who makes you think they like you, but then end up dating your best friend.
With Nick
I started kicking the wall as I thought how stupid I was to think Miley would like me. I mean I kept showing her that I had interest in her and then I find out she likes Taylor. I feel stupid to think she would like me back.
